Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas and a great New Year's! In the spirit of the New Year, we have several new items for our January newsletter. We're very excited about the coming year and hope you will share in the upcoming events with us.

A Big Thanks
Before we tell you about all the wonderful new things we have in store this month, we need to say a HUGE Thank You to all of our wonderful customers! The Angel Tree for the Humane Society was a huge success. In fact, there were so many items under the tree that Humane Society volunteers had to make a second trip to pick up the actual tree, because there simply wasn't room in the truck! Having such generous customers makes us proud. Thank you so much!

New Year, New Treat Contest!
To start off 2009, we are retiring one of our original treats - peanut butter sandwiches. This isn't to say that they'll never appear again, but for the time being, they will be removed from the treat table. What will take their space? Well, we'd like you to tell us! We are having a contest to determine our newest flavor and everyone is encouraged to send us their ideas. The winner will get a $25 gift card and the first pound of the new treat. Ideas will be accepted by email at sales@bigwag.com or in person at the store until the end of January. The winner will be announced in February's newsletter. A few things to keep in mind - remember dogs can't eat grapes, raisins, onions, chocolate or macadamia nuts.

New Food
In December we expanded the types of Canidae Dog food available in our store. You can now buy Canidae All Life Stages and Canidae Chicken and Rice in 5lb, 15lb and 30lb sizes. We also added Canidae Platinum canned food to our selection. And remember, we are always happy to take orders for any type of Solid Gold, Canidae or Taste of the Wild that you need.

New Toys
We always endeavor to bring you new and unique toys and we have added our toy selection, with a special focus on eco-friendly toys. These range from toys that help you make use of old plastic bottles to toys made from recycled materials and toys that are made with natural fibers and natural dyes. New Way to Save Money and The Environment
Many of you have been bringing is your old paw print bags to save $2 on your purchases and reduce waste. We love that! But in 2009 we think we can make our Save the Trash, Save the World promotion a little bit more eco-friendly. We are now offering reusable totes that are a great size for your treats. They will be on sale in our store for $1, and each time you bring them in, you'll save a dollar on your purchase. We will continue accepting the old paw print bags for a discount through the end of January, or you may exchange them for a free reusable tote.

New Addition
Our Bigwag family got a little bit bigger in December with the addition Peggy's new son, Jack! He was born December 16th at 3:57pm and weighed 6lbs 9oz. Peggy is spending time with Jack, but we hope to see her back soon!
